Marathons are expensive. Okay, not all of them, but more often than not they are a bit pricey. Whether it's a big city marathon with thousands of other runners, or a low key local race with a two or three hundred participants, you can almost guarantee that race entry won't be cheap. Race entry isn't cheap, especially for marathons. However, occasionally, if we know where to look, we can find races that are surprisingly inexpensive. With the help of volunteers, generous sponsors and a bit of good fortune some race organisers are able to provide marathons that don't break the bank. We're now several weeks into a national lockdown. For many, this has had a notably negative affect on mental health. Those suffering have reported experiencing increased amounts of stress and anxiety.
